PROJECTS AND WORKSHOPS

THE “PARENTING – FAMILIES AT RISK” PROJECT

The “Parenting” project stems from the conviction that parental experience is one of the most delicate and difficult periods for men and women. Anyone who has children knows that never having had a dialogue with other parents on parenting can be a limiting factor for the couples and their children alike. In this project, the aim was to involve parents directly, to give them full awareness of their potential and the possibility of sharing the skills acquired, however acquired, by virtue of hands-on experiences.

Given the characteristics of the “social distress” typical of Casa Aurora’s users and the singular nature of the experiences,
we believe that it is necessary to provide a comprehensive care through a network capable of involving the care team of the Aurora Project, social services and institutions that are in contact with the facility and with the minors in particular. Once these synergies were found and structured, the initial work was assigned in terms of its contents and of a suitable framework, to make the project effective and efficient. THE MAMMEXMAMME PROJECT OF NOVAURORA

The mammeXmamme (mums4mums) project, designed and implemented by Novaurora SCS, thanks to the C’Entro Anch’Io (I matter too) project by Coop Adriatica, started from the assumption that, given the complexity of finding a job in an increasingly selective market, with reductions in public funding for the social private sector, and a lowered purchasing power among employed women, it is necessary to develop and consolidate networked partnerships to support disadvantaged subjects. It is increasingly necessary to set up “work projects” which go further than the traditional caring of patients in protected communities and which enhance (while also assessing) the skills patients have acquired while in care.

To facilitate the phase of social and work reintegration for mothers at the end of their care path and the post-reduction phase, the mammeXmamme project was prepared and carried out by Novaurora in collaboration with the other cooperatives and voluntary associations that revolve around the Comunità di Venezia s.c.s.. VEGETABLE GARDEN PROJECT

The vegetable garden is found at Malamocco, a hamlet on the Lido Island known for its history and nature on a strip island separating the lagoon of Venice and the Adriatic Sea. The land is owned by the Municipality of Venice and was given as an administrative concession to the Villa Renata therapy community since the first years of therapy-assistance activity for carrying out socio-educational activities for resident patients of the community.

On this land, educators coordinated by Dott. Carlo Bovo carry out training activities in the field of traditional Venetian horticulture and floriculture, cultivating products for self-consumption. To view the project information sheet, go to Scheda Progetto ORTO

“TANGO THERAPY” PROJECT

In recent years, more emphasis has been given to the recreational activities within the Casa Aurora’s care-path, and a greater investment in time and resources has been given to them. An experimental project has been set up called “Tango Therapy”, aimed at integrating dance and tango workshops, which were started in previous years on an experimental basis. Given their success, it was decided to make the Tango Therapy project permanent. To find out more, download the Project information sheet: Scheda Progetto Tango Therapy

RELATIONAL PSYCHOMOTRICITY PROJECT

Relational psychomotricity is a discipline that considers people overall, and is a playful and expressive activity in which children can play, move around and express themselves using simple unstructured materials that favour the development of the three types of psychomotility (sensorial, symbolic, socialization).

The free expression and the authentic relationships established with adults allow this game to foster children’s harmonious and full development. This discipline holds that personal histories are written in muscle tone (i.e. in the body and its tensions). Thus, movement is used as an essential tool for enhancing knowledge of self, others and surroundings.
